目前服務於 TWS (台灣智慧雲端) 任總工程師，負責雲平台服務專利開發及維運 DevOps 流程。於2018年開始參與科技部前瞻 AI 基礎建設計畫，在 TWCC (臺灣 AI 雲)服務架構中負責軟體服務架構建置及後續維運公有雲平台(含臺灣杉二號超級電腦)，並設計巨量資料與人工智慧服務以驗證該平台能滿足各界需求。在國網中心服務時期任 TWCC Chief Programmer，主要負責設計各項平台及軟體變更的審查流程，確保各項變更能無風險順利達成。此外依據雲平台使用方式設計發明專利，包括應用在 AI-HPC 平台治理(TWI742774B)及機敏資料不落地(TWI737368B)。在工研院服務時期，除擔任經濟部計畫子項負責人之外，亦進行自然語言處理應用於電子商務的專利設計(TWI649712B, US11087218B2, CN109903115A)。於2006年參與國家高速網路中心儲存設備維運，2004年加入 ToThere.com 新創公司任技術長，負責平台服務及演算法開發。 於2016年取得國立政治大學資訊管理博士，屢次獲得獎學金並參與各項研究專題，包括計算語言學([鍾曉芳教授](https://sites.google.com/site/siawfongchung/))、代理人模擬([陳樹衡教授](https://ah.nccu.edu.tw/scholar?id=349))及情感分析研究([楊亨利教授](https://mis2.nccu.edu.tw/zh_tw/Faculty/Faculty_01/楊-亨利-61597578))。在[司徒達賢教授](https://commerce.nccu.edu.tw/zh_tw/faculty/faculty_directory_byname/司徒-達賢-34711070)下修習哈佛商業個案教學，並取得種子教師認證。此外完成經濟部無型資產鑑價訓練，並完成國家實驗研究院之3000萬技術轉移專案。
Dr. August Chao currently serves as Chief Engineer at TWS (Taiwan Web Service Company). Aug's most notable work is design workflow, service and mechanize for Taiwanina II (Top 20 in Top-500 supercomputer) and TWCC (Taiwan Computing Cloud). TWCC helps many new AI start-up companies and digital transformation for public and private sectors. Prior to his work in NARLabs and ITRI, his contributions in deep learning algorithms and services in NLP fields (TWI649712B(2019-02-01), US20190180190A1, CN109903115A), designing AI-HPC infrastructures (TWI742774B) (US 17/109,657, patent pending) and confidential computing over cloud (TWI737368B) (US 17/108,329, patent pending).

---不自殺宣言---

本人生性樂觀開朗，近期至未來至耳順之年人生規劃，後事遺書也都已妥當。雖交友並不廣闊，唯幸身無隱疾，且家中尚有父母、外婆、老婆、阿布需奉養、照料，絕無任何自殺輕生之意圖。近期也未規劃前往外地旅遊踏青，雖生活作息幾許不正常，但也無進出聲色不正當場所。偶入冬時會接觸木炭，且時時注意撲滅。毒藥不碰，槍砲彈藥等危險管制物品，自退伍即不再接觸。若是本人被發現死亡，且現場無外力及打鬥掙扎痕跡，如在車內房間等等隱蔽場所，絕非本人自殺。另本人非常遵守交通法規，絕不於酒後駕駛動力交通工具或是超速行駛，若近期發生交通事故，定為有心人士所為。此外研究工作雖有壓力，但師長仍時時關心找我 meeting，尚不足成為自殘因素。
